We want Ignite Minneapolis to be a safe space for everyone. By attending an Ignite Minneapolis event you agree to follow the policy below.

DRAFT: Code of Conduct

Ignite is about the sharing of ideas. We gather to listen and to learn, not to judge. You're likely to hear ideas you agree with, and maybe some that you don't.

Treat everyone you meet at Ignite Minneapolis with respect and compassion. Please refrain from any and all behavior we regard as harassment.

Harassment is defined as unwanted conduct related to age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, gender, or sexual orientation, which has the purpose or effect of violating an individual’s dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment for that individual.

Please do not intimidate, follow, photograph, or record a person without permission.

Please do not disrupt the talks or other aspects of the event.

Please do not touch someone or invade their personal space without permission, or engage in unwelcome sexual attention.

Please do not engage in aggressive behavior such as raising your voice, pointing, etc. If anyone asks you to stop these behaviors, we ask you to comply immediately.

Report problems immediately.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, we ask you to report it immediately to any Ignite Minneapolis staff member or an event security staff member.

We will take all reports of harassment seriously, investigate them, and take appropriate action, including asking the person engaging in harassment to leave.

Ignite staff can provide escorts, call taxis, or otherwise ensure that people are safe for the duration of the event.

Ignite is dedicated to providing an inclusive, harassment-free experience for everyone regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, or other protected category.

CONSEQUENCES OF UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a Participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the Ignite or the venue staff or the security staff may take action as it deems appropriate, including warning or expelling the offender from the event with no refund.
