Ignite Minneapolis Attendee
Code of Conduct

We want Ignite Minneapolis to be a safe space for everyone. By attending an Ignite Minneapolis event you agree to follow the policy below.

Ignite is about the sharing of ideas. We gather to listen and to learn, not to judge. You're likely to hear ideas you agree with, and maybe some that you don't.

Treat everyone you meet at Ignite Minneapolis with respect and compassion. Please refrain from any and all behavior we regard as harassment.

Harassment is defined as unwanted conduct related to age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation, which has the purpose or effect of violating an individual’s dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment for that individual.

Please do not comment on another person's age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

Please do not intimidate, follow, photograph or record a person without permission, or disrupt talks or other aspects of the event.

Please do not touch someone or invade their personal space without permission, or engage in unwelcome sexual attention.

Please do not engage in aggressive behaviour such as raising your voice, pointing, etc.

If anyone asks you to stop these behaviours, we ask you to comply immediately.

Report problems immediately.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, we ask you to report it immediately to Patrick Kuntz, any Ignite Minneapolis staff member (someone wearing a red Ignite conference badge), or an event security staff member.

We will take all reports of harassment seriously, investigate them, and take appropriate action, including asking the person engaging in harassment to leave. We will also contact the police if appropriate, provide escorts, call taxis, or otherwise ensure that people are safe for the duration of the event.
